Day 70

Another long night.  Katie's tummy was hurting.   Although, she woke up first thing this morning and said, "I want breakfast."  Which of course she didn't eat...but she did eat TWO bananas!  Katie also ate her lunch, so I was hopeful, but she didn't eat dinner - only a handful of blueberries - but that is more than she has been eating, so it was good.  She seems strong this week.  She is walking really well and she even wanted to try the stairs today (with my help).  We are told to expect things to get worse again within the next few weeks, but we are glad she is doing as well as she is for now!
We have just under 2 years of treatments left.  Dr. Dana said the first 9 months would be hard, but it should get easier after that.  We have already done the first 2 months - so only 7 more (hard months) to go (we hope).  Elder Neal A. Maxwell stated: "When in situations of stress we wonder if there is any more in us to give, we can be comforted to know that God, who knows our capacity perfectly, placed us here to succeed.  No one was foreordained to fail or to be wicked.  When we have been weighed and found wanting, let us remember that we were measured before and we were found equal to our tasks; and, therefore, let us continue, but with a more determined discipleship.  When we feel overwhelmed, let us recall the assurance that God will not over program us; he will not press upon us more than we can bear ("Meeting the Challenges of Today," BYU Speeches of the Year, 1978) (D&C 50:40-44)  I was feeling a little down today...tonight, I opened a book to this quote and read these scriptures...so, guess I'll be okay. =)  Today I am glad for the assurance that God will not over program us  - and for the beauty and joy I find each day within my own family.
