Day 82

Katie has decided to potty train herself, I guess.  She said on Saturday that she wanted to use the "potty chair" and wanted to wear underwear.  She did the same yesterday (however, we did diapers yesterday because of church).  Today she woke up with a dry diaper, and she said she wanted to go potty and wear underwear.  Then she announced to me this afternoon that she would not wear diapers anymore.  So...we'll see how that goes!  (She hasn't had an accident yet today).  I know girls potty train earlier than boys, and we tried, but she just wasn't ready before (the cancer).  Which actually was a blessing, because of all the IV fluids in the hospital, not being able to walk for so long, etc... Katie would have had to revert back to diapers, and that would have been traumatizing.  I wasn't ready to potty train her yet, I was still going to wait, because she goes back on steroids in mid-March, and that can make her need to urinate a lot during the night (for some reason).  But, Katie is on her own time table, cancer or no cancer.  Sweet girl!

  1. This post made me laugh, because Evie has been removing her diaper whenever she can the last few days and I've been steeling myself to train her. Today she peed all over the kitchen chair, straight through her big-girl panties. Still not ready, but how can I tell HER that! :) Better luck to you!

  2. How ironic- Aspen has been potty trained for months and today asked if she could wear a pull-up! Love these little girls.
